Working & Volunteering

Work Placements for Offenders

SOFA Project provides work experience placements in all areas of our operations, including the call centre and  warehouses. We aim to encourage many people from all walks of life to make a difference, not only to their own lives but also to the lives of others. Many are socially excluded for a variety of reasons. In Bristol, SOFA Project is a key partner with the Prisoner Rehabilitation Programme in both local prisons, HMP Leyhill and HMP Bristol. Partnerships between SOFA Project and various agencies have proven to be extremely successful in preparing offenders for life after prison and to reduce the chances of offending. As well as being able to offer employment to several ex-offenders ourselves we are also able to provide support to offenders moving elsewhere in the country.

Volunteering is about giving your time to a good cause through sharing your experiences, gaining more skills and confidence, although people volunteer for many reasons. What is common for most people who volunteer is that they want to make a difference and are dedicated to the cause of the organisation.

SOFA Project recognises and is thankful to our volunteers’ continued valued contribution, which supports us to achieve our Aims & Objectives as a charity and social enterprise.

If you are interested in volunteering, and are able to commit to at least 1 day per week, please contact our CEO Nicci Peck on 0117 954 7808 or for an informal chat to discuss our current volunteering opportunities. Opportunities will vary due to availability.
